Kengo Bonsai gallery
日本が誇る文化の一つである日本茶。
生産者があと数名であったり、生産環境の変化により絶滅の危機に瀕する日本茶が存在します。そんな絶滅危惧茶が、なぜ今危機に晒されているのかを知ることで、私たちの行動を変容するきっかけを教えてくれます。
この絶滅危惧茶のパッケージにKeng Bonsai Galleryが採用されています。
Japanese tea is one of Japan's proud cultural assets. Some Japanese teas are in danger of extinction due to a decrease in the number of producers and changes in the production environment. Knowing the reasons for such endangered teas is an opportunity to change our behavior.
The Keng Bonsai Gallery is featured on the packaging of this endangered tea.
小さな鉢の中で千年でも生きる盆栽は、災害や戦争中でも、人が毎日欠かさず世話をしてこそ為し得るSustainableの象徴。自然と人間の共創アートです。
気候変動で栽培が難しい国であっても絵画を通して日本の文化を普及したい。
これから世界で活躍する子ども達に、日本茶や着物、盆栽などの日本文化、侘び寂びの精神を伝えたいとも考えています。
言葉を発するより、色彩や筆で気持ちを表した子ども時代。
母がお花の先生だったことから、植物が家に当たり前にあった。
興味は盆栽に。 世界一と言われる盆栽職人に弟子入りし、時間に伴う木々の成長を人間の介入により多様な造形が出来ることを目の当たりにした。
頭の中で時空を超えて盆栽を育て、現代アートにすることで、気候変動によって一層愛でることの難しくなる盆栽の魅力を伝えたいと考える。
生まれながらに脳に特徴はあるが、空間認識能力を授けてもらい、今は素晴らしいドクターのおかげで薬でコントロール出来ているため、自分の作品が障がい者アートとして扱われることに違和感を覚え、独自の創作活動を開始。
自身の活動により、自分と同じ脳の特徴を持つ子ども達にボーダーはないことを伝えたいと願っている。
2023年春フランスのルーヴル美術館にて開催されるアートフェアに出展しました。
Bonsai, which can live for a thousand years in a small pot, is a symbol of sustainability, which can only be achieved if people take care of it every day without fail, even in the midst of disasters or wars. It is an art of co-creation between nature and humans.
Kengo tries to spread Japanese culture through his paintings, even in countries where climate change makes cultivation difficult. He also wants to pass on the spirit of wabi-sabi and Japanese culture, such as Japanese tea ceremony, kimono, and bonsai, to children who will play an active role in the world in the future.
The artist expressed his feelings through color and a brush rather than words in his childhood. His house was naturally filled with plants since his mother was a flower arrangement instructor. Fascinated by Bonsai, he apprenticed to a Bonsai master reputed as the best in the world, and became aware of the multiplicity of forms that human intervention can createe as these trees grow over time. By freely growing bonsais in his head beyond time and space, and expressing them as a contemporary art, he tries to convey the charm of these trees, which are now affected by climate change.
His congenital cerebral features give him a developed spatial awareness. The symptoms are now well-controlled thanks to the medication prescribed by a prominent doctor. Uncomfortable with the idea of his artistic production being assimilated to that of a handicapped person, he chooses to pursue his activities independently. Through his works, he hopes to spread a message that there are no borders to children with the same brain characteristics. His works will be exhibited in an art show at the Louvre Museum in the spring of 2023.
Le bonsaï, qui peut vivre mille ans dans un petit pot, est un symbole de durabilité, qui ne peut être atteint que si les gens en prennent soin tous les jours sans faute, même au milieu des catastrophes ou des guerres. C’est un art de co-création entre la nature et les humains.
Kengo essaie de diffuser la culture japonaise à travers ses peintures, même dans les pays où le changement climatique rend la culture difficile.
Il souhaite également transmettre l’esprit du wabi-sabi et la culture japonaise, comme la cérémonie du thé, le kimono et le bonsaï, aux enfants qui joueront un rôle actif dans le monde à l’avenir.
Dans son enfance, l’artiste exprimait ses sentiments par la couleur et le pinceau plutôt que par les mots.
Ayant une mère enseignant l’art floral, sa maison abondait naturellement en plantes diverses.
Son intérêt se porte alors vers les bonsaïs.
Il devient le disciple d’un maître réputé comme le meilleur au monde, et prend dès lors conscience de la multiplicité des formes que l’intervention humaine peut engendrer au fil de la croissance de ces arbres.
En recréant mentalement des bonsaïs affranchis de l’espace et du temps, puis en les reproduisant avec un style artistique contemporain, il espère transmettre le charme de ces arbres affectés par le réchauffement climatique.
Ses spécificités cérébrales congénitales, dont il peut désormais contrôler les symptômes grâce aux prescriptions médicamenteuses d’un médecin éminent, lui ouvrent une conscience spatiale développée. Mal à l’aise de ce fait à l’idée que sa production artistique soit assimilée à celle d’une personne handicapée, il choisit de poursuivre ses activités de façon indépendante.
Il espère ainsi démontrer aux enfants porteurs des mêmes caractéristiques cérébrales qu’il n’existe pas de frontières infranchissables.
Ses œuvres seront exposées lors d’un salon d’art au musée du Louvre dans le courant du printemps 2023.
